"Free as in Freedom, Free as in Price"

Welcome to the website of Piga Software, we are a group of programmers dedicated to the creation of software for the GNU/Linux platform that is free and open source under the GNU General Public License version 3.0, We are particularly interested in producing games, especially historical games, first person shooters, and strategy games for GNU/Linux. If you wish us to make a specific kind of software for you email us at request@piga.yoll.net, however do not expect us to be punctual as currently there are only two of us! All requesters note that we will only develop free software under the GPL 3.0, we also will most likely not take requests for the Windows platform. All requests may not be taken. If so and E-mail will be sent telling you why we can not work on this right now or why we will not. Request may later be followed up on.

Key Projects

Free Empires Source Code Screenshot
Free Empires is our star project. Its goal is write a Free Software reversed engineered equivalent of Microsoft's and Ensemble Studios: Age of Empires, that works on GNU/Linux and Microsoft Windows. Two Source Releases (SRs) are available however the upcoming SR 3.0.0 is to be the grandest yet and to be using an engine powered by SDL instead of the previously QT rendered engine. Download Free Empires: Chief and Warriors SR 2.0.0. Tested on Fedora 7, SR 1.0.0 tested on Fedora "Core" versions 4 and 7 as well as Ubuntu 7.04.
Donut Quest Screenshot
Donut Quest, a game we produced under the request of the Brogo web comic, play as the Brogo character Ed Donut as he battles spiders and eats Donuts. Graphics, Sounds, and Music courtesy of Malcolm Wilson Multimedia. Donut Quest works on Windows 95 and above and has not been tested on Windows Vista. Donut Quest has been ran in WINE under Fedora 7 and worked perfectly besides not playing the MIDI music files. We are now working on Donut Quest version 1.5 which will fix bugs, add features, and help those WINEing it, as well as upgrading to GPL 3.0. Download Version 1.0.0 Here!
Other Projects: Inferno (Includes Rebirth) First Person Shooter Project, Linfarm farm simulation/strategy game, The Hammer Programming tools, Wilson Net Web Browser, Piga Nation Historical Simulation Game, Piga Windows Entertainment Pack, and Gambas Adventure Engine.
